what about writing down your own ideas...?

Why do a lot of people on this board ask for 'script ideas', 'ideas for my next movie', and the such?

IMHO, as an amateur movie maker you should come up with your own ideas, use your imagination, write down your own story and then head out and film it, instead of trying to make a movie out of someone else's idea.

Just a thought. What do you think?

Maybe, but sometimes writers/creators block can be a real drag, and you'll do anything for an idea.
